Therapy
With 15 years clinical experience, my approach draws on psycho-dynamic and person-centered psychotherapy, somatic therapy, Compassionate Inquiry (the work of Dr Gabor Maté), SIRPA informed mind-body medicine and mindful self-compassion. What all of these have in common is that they work with your whole self, not just your mind. Because what I've learned is understanding your patterns intellectually doesn’t equal healing. Real change happens when we learn to integrate all parts of ourselves.
We work on three interconnected levels.
There's the body level, where we focus on nervous system regulation and releasing trauma that's stored physically. This is often why people who've done years of talk therapy still feel tense, still have symptoms, still can't quite relax. The body needs its own kind of healing.
There's the mind level, where we look at the beliefs driving your patterns. Things like "my worth comes from my productivity" or "my needs are too much" or "I have to change who I am to be acceptable." These beliefs often formed early and they keep you stuck in cycles of over-functioning and self-abandonment.
And there's what I call the soul level. This is about reconnecting with your sensitivity not as something to manage, but as part of who you are. It's about building a life that actually aligns with your values, not just one where you're trying to meet everyone else's expectations.
What to expect
Through our work together you will be guided to:
Regulate your highly sensitive nervous system, so you can find ease and comfort in your daily life.
Release old trauma patterns of overachieving, people-pleasing and self-abandonment, which are often developed in order to cope with feeling like you’re too much or not good enough.
Reclaim the most valuable gifts associated with your sensitivity; your creativity, intuition and deep compassion.
Realign with your own deepest values so that you can live a life that is purposeful and true to yourself.
Is this right for you?
This approach works well for people who are genuinely ready to go deeper. If you're looking for surface solutions or quick fixes, this probably isn't the right fit. The work takes time and commitment. But if you're tired of just managing symptoms and want to actually address what's driving them, we might work well together.
It's also important that you're open to body-based and mindfulness work, not just talking. And that you're willing to be challenged gently when patterns show up that aren't serving you anymore.
If you'd like to explore working together
I work with a fairly small number of clients because this work requires depth and attention.
The first step would be a free 15-minute phone call where we can talk about what you're experiencing and see if this feels like the right fit. There's no pressure to commit to anything. It's genuinely just a conversation to see if we're a good match.
Sessions are £120 for 60 minutes. I do have a couple of reduced-fee spaces if cost is a genuine barrier. Just mention it when we talk and we can discuss what might be possible.
I work from Edinburgh and also see clients online anywhere.
If any of this resonates, you can book a call using the link below. I look forward to hearing from you.
